Santorini Island is one of the most southern islands in the Cyclades region of Greece. This up market island set in the Aegean Sea is well know of its pretty whitewashed houses and churches with blue domed rooftops scattered around the island and in its villages. Its villages are set along the hills and coastal cliffs with its black sand and rocky coastline. The island was formed from an erupting Volcano which created its beautiful natural  scenery.

For more information see our flights section.  Ferries are available from the ports of Athinios, Fira, and Oia to many destinations such as Mykonos, Ios, Naxos, Paros, Syros, Sikinos, Skiathos, Rhodes, Pireas and more. For more information see our ferries section . There is a bus service available to most parts of the island as well as many Taxi services and Motorcycle hire.

Fira - is the islands capital city with a spectacular cliff top location, stunning sunsets and famous donkey rides which carry visitors up the steep cobbled streets. Picturesque narrow streets offer variety of shops, bars and restaurants as well as some night life after sunset.

Imerovigili - only 15 minutes walk from Fira this picturesque town is set on the highest point of Santorini offering unforgettable panoramic views. It is also the location of the famous blue domed church which appears in many photographs and postcards. There are some good restaurants here with spectacular views. 

Kamari - is a lively resort with a large selection of restaurants, bars and clubs stretched along its sea front better know for its  5km black sand and pebble beach. 

Monolithos Beach - is a small sandy beach more popular with the locals than the visitors to the island. Its a short distance from the airport making it easily accessible. There are some good fish restaurants here serving their daily catch. 

Santorini Island Weather

During the warmer months of June, July, August and September the daily temperatures normally reach an average top of 26ºC, (79ºF). May and October are a little cooler with the average high temperature of 22ºC (71ºF). January is normally the coldest month with an average high temperature of 14ºC (58ºF) and average low temperature of 9ºC (49ºF).
